CORE Program

The British Columbia Wildlife Federation (BCWF) manages the CORE Program. CORE stands for Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education. This program was created by the BCWF and all BC bird and game hunters must complete the course before they can purchase their hunting licence and game tags.

CORE instructors / examiners are available throughout British Columbia. Please go to BCWF’s webpage about CORE and find the instructor for your area. Contact the instructor for the next available course.

The program curriculum includes practical firearms handling and safety in the outdoors, laws, regulations,  first aid and conservation, ethics, animal and bird identification. In-class programs take several evenings or a weekend to complete.
