Children
Safety is critical for our children while attending the Salmon Arm Fish and Game Club (SAFGC) shooting range. It is recommended that if a family intends on having their children attend the range and shoot, the kids should complete the club’s Range Safety Orientation.
Children under 18 years of age are welcome on the shooting ranges as guests or as club members of a family. Children are not allowed to shoot firearms by themselves. Children under 18 years of age must be supervised when attending the range and that supervision must be within an arms length reach. This condition is the law.
The club recommends that you bring only two children at a time. If you bring more than two underage children, only two child shooters per member are permitted on the firing line. Remember, supervision means within an arms length so you will be standing between both children, closely supervising when they shoot.
If you bring more than two children, then only two child shooters per member are permitted on the firing line. Have the additional children sit at the back of the shooting bay and have them take turns and cycle them in and out from the firing line. As the adult member you are the one responsible for the children.
Children are not allowed to wander around on the range when they are not shooting. They must remain in the shooting bay or shooting building. Please manage your children and stay safe and shoot safe.

Sign Child Guests In: When children attend as a guest, they must be signed in as your guest. Complete the guest card along with the child, and then deposit it in the yellow box at the sign-in station. Completing the guest card confers insurance and liability coverage to you and the child. If you do not complete the guest card, you, as the member bringing the guest, personally assume the liability for the guest.
