These past two Covid years will be years to remember.  As we rent the property from the City of Salmon Arm, the Board sought and received permission to operate the outdoor shooting activities for our club during this pandemic. Unfortunately, all indoor meetings were cancelled as per the provincial health restrictions.

SAFGC’s next General Meeting will be held at 7:00 pm, June 17, 2021 at the clubhouse. This meeting will be conducted outdoors so we can social distance and meet the conditions outlined in British Columbia’s health order for organized meetings – maximum of 50 people plus up to 4 monitors.

The following agenda items will be discussed:

  1. July and August General Meetings
  2. Board Appointments in lieu of Covid cancelled AGM
  3. Budget, Expenditures & Committee Reports
  4. Website and Social Media
  5. Women’s Division
  6. Payment for Professional Services
  7. Club Apparel
  8. Fund Raising Ideas and Online Raffles
  9. The Memorial Wall: Member Recognition
  10. Caretaker and Wood Burning Permits
  11. BCWF Insurance

I am looking forward to connecting again. We have a full agenda to discuss.

Lastly, two weeks ago, a judge ordered the federal government to produce the documents and information it used to determine which firearms to ban through its May 2020 Order-in-Council. The judge rejected the Government of Canada’s claim that this information claimed cabinet confidence, because it is an OIC, and therefore did not have to be shared. A small win that the federal government most likely further challenge in court!

See you next Thursday at the general meeting.

Cheers.

Richard
