During the past three years, both members and the executives have questioned belonging to the British Columbia Wildlife Federation (BCWF). There are 3 main considerations to discuss:

 1) The cost for members’ to belong to the BCWF;

2) The coverage terms and costs to purchase members’ insurance from BCWF; and

3) The service we receive back from BCWF.

In order to research the pros and cons of belonging to BCWF, Betty-Ann Harries, our Treasurer, contacted a variety of insurance companies and third party organizations that provide membership insurance for shooting clubs, and all British Columbia fish, game and shooting clubs.  This information will be placed on the website, discussed further at the next general meeting(s), and voted on as a Special Resolution at our next Annual General Meeting (AGM) this October.

The research will be presented so you can make an informed decision about whether the Salmon Arm Fish and Game Club (SAFGC) remains as a member of the BCWF or withdraws its club membership. If the SAFGC votes to withdraw, a part of the discussion must be how do we as a club organize our local conservation, fish and game activities in lieu of our membership in BCWF.
